Understand how Betterage uses AI.
Betterage uses artificial intelligence. Here you can learn where it is used, what information it processes and what to bear in mind when reading its results.
You are talking to AI.
AI helps with plans, food logging, photo comparisons and document digitization. The provider is Devory IT GmbH, using OpenAI models. Medical documents stay in a separate archive and are not evaluated by the coach or used to adapt your plans.
An answer is not routinely reviewed by a human or doctor before it is displayed. AI can misunderstand information, overstate connections or generate inaccurate content.
Your information provides the context.
Depending on the feature, your message, available health information, text from medical reports, uploaded images or a voice recording are sent to the AI provider. Free text and documents may contain personal information; full anonymisation is not guaranteed. Separate consent is required for AI processing.
On the web, a voice recording is sent to OpenAI for transcription. You can review the recognised text before sending it. When we offer to read an answer aloud, we use a synthetic voice available locally on your device.
Check, ask questions, decide for yourself.
Check imported details against the original before confirming them. Correct recognition errors. Proposed plan changes need your confirmation; individual routine entries can be saved from the conversation. It does not interpret medical results, recommend tests or adapt plans to clinical findings.
Betterage is not an emergency service. In a medical emergency, contact your local emergency services; in the EU, you can reach them on 112.
The EU AI Act and our responsibility.
The AI Act is an EU regulation. Its transparency requirements have applied since 2 August 2026. Using a third-party language model does not remove our responsibility for our own application.
Whether individual health features must meet additional requirements as medical devices or high-risk AI depends on their intended purpose and actual function. A reference to a doctor’s responsibility does not replace this assessment.
Disclosing the use of AI is one part of the legal requirements. This page is not a certification or a blanket assurance of full compliance with the AI Act.

AI content on this website.
AI was used for text and illustrative images on this website. Scientific sources are linked alongside the relevant statements. Staged everyday scenes and product illustrations do not show individual examination results and do not establish Betterage’s medical effectiveness.
Report an error or a problem.
If you notice a problematic AI answer, tell us which feature was involved and when it happened. Do not initially send medical reports or other sensitive health data by email. We will agree with you on the information needed for a review.
